LeatherHorseGear was founded in 2003 by Thomas Gold while hunting for his first leathers, only to be sadly disappointed by the lack of quality and price. During this time, Thomas began his college studies in Fashion Design at Marymount University, Arlington, VA. While studying he focused on leathers and furs in his garments. And clearly it showed early on in his work that he had a talent and a passion for leathers. After opening a couture shop off the back of his home, he continued his studies in leather and fur and tinkered with designs and various Ideas.
In 2008 Thomas and his partner sold their home in VA and move to Knoxville, Tn. The first shop was closed and the following year, Leatherhorse Gear was born. As with all business there are growing pains. And LeatherHorsegear had them in spades
Our goal is to provide great custom fit leather gear at a very reasonable price.
From a rough sketch to the final project, every detail is gone over and attended to with precision and care, resulting in clothing and gear that you you can expect to last for years to come. We use grade hides and pelts for our gear, as well as top quality zippers and hardware and the strongest treads available.
